Why?

Why did it end?

Because, he walked away.

I don't think so.

Then why?

Because, she walked away also.

Pay attention, its free!

Life, is a social experiment.

For plenty of people social networking is life, while in actuality life is a web of social networks. Its said that joy doubles and sorrow halves when shared. People have stopped realsing the value of that, thanks to the fast growing world where people can't even spend time to smile at the next guy. People today feel lonely in a crowd, lost amidst best of friends. Why? Lack of attention. It so happens that in a group of friends you might have favorites. As the group gets bigger the attention naturally gets divided and sadly people tend to forget one or two. Yes, in a group of best of friends. Being left out is not their choice or leaving out them is not their option. Yet it happens and there comes a divide between people which may rise due to inexplicable reasons. Isolation is something that no man has mastered to deal with. Life, both social and the social networking phase of it, is all about notifications. Learn to appreciate the existence of the fellow being. Pay attention, it costs you nothing :)

Life, is a social experiment.

Wake up and break up..

A dozen n half years back,
In summer when hot is the sun.
To my mom and dad's luck,
They got a son..

The very same year,
In a land far away from the Nile.
Your parents shed a happy tear,
Just to see you smile..

You were slim not stout,
And you stole my heart.
I asked you out,
You said why not..

You and me were Cupid's match,
Held each other as apple of the eye.
So many eyes did we catch,
Like bread,butter and sweet cherry pie..

Many a fight and chocolate snatches,
You and me never made patches.
Know whats funny?
That which people call life.
The weather's really hot and sunny,
Yet you never can be my wife..

To make a short story long..

It was a giant Oak tree.It has always been that.She shared everything with the tree.In fact the Oak tree was her confidant.It knew everything about her.The tree had always been in their garden.It was probably centuries old.It must have been there before her dad bought the place a decade back.Now she was there,standing before the oak tree holding back her tears.She never thought she'd forget the lines.It was her first recital and she made a fool of herself before the whole school.Halfway into the recital she was gasping and hardly a word  came out of her mouth.She started sobbing ran down the stage on to her mom's embrace.And now there she was to pour her heart out to her Oak tree

She wanted to get into her office immediately.Her corner office made her shut off the noisy outer world.Her corner office amidst three sixty degrees of tall,glass windowed,multi-storeyed buildings.For the people who see from the outside her world was full of happy successful people.They represented the tiny percentage of people who made a good fortune.The ferraris and the BMWs stood as material proofs.But she knew all these did not matter the least.If only they knew what it was like to be in the corporate world.

It was her eighth birthday.She could not keep her hands off her new bike.It was a gift from her dad.Something she never asked for.Something she really was happy to have been gifted with.She was riding it in circles around her Oak tree.This is a happy memory that would last for years.

She was never late to work.The other staffs have never seen her arriving.Rumour was that she never left her corner office.She loved the place.She was poring through the dozen page long report that she was to acknowledge and the one in which the guy in administration had rambled upon for pages and pages which could've been a much shorter report.She hated inefficiency.She was a leader and a tough one at that.

It was her twelfth birthday.This one was different from the rest.Her dad had passed away three months back.Pneumonia did not have a good choice in picking victims.While rogues, thieves and murderers lived her dad had to meet death.She learnt not to believe in fairy tales.

She was thirty five.She could not keep count of her age.She loved her work.That made her younger and more attentive by the day.Pushing the report out of her mind she glanced out of the window.it had started snowing early this year.She hated winters.They somehow made her sad.Made her feel lonely and miserable.She never showed her emotions.She shared everything with her mother.But not how she felt when she saw regular women doing regular works.Shopping,taking their kids out for a walk in the park,dining with their husband.Sometimes she wished she never excelled.She would've been like those women happy,whining about unpaid bills and too many kids,but happy nevertheless.

She topped her class in high school.Her successful run continued at college.She was stunningly beautiful.She was taller than average,had long fingers,had that natural tan which girls of her age died to get.Yet she was never asked out for a date.Guys were scared to ask her out.Girls and guys were equally intimidated by her beauty and success.

The coffee on her table had turned cold.She was lost in thoughts.Seldom was she distracted from her work.But it was all until age lines started showing themselves.One of the boldest women you'd see started feeling more and more insecure by the day.

She stopped receiving gifts for her birthdays.It reminded her of her dad and she did not want reasons to feel weak.She learnt the art of accepting life as such at a very young age.She qualified with top decree in from one of the most prestigious business schools.Everyone thought she'd start her own business,with a rich background one would normally be expected to do so.But to everyone's surprise she joined a law firm which was almost broke.It was owned by her dad's lawyer and best friend.She knew the place had potential but they never worked as a team.She was expected to lead people and she did and have been doing it for the past fourteen years over which the firm had evolved as one of the most successful.This indeed was a success story that was often quoted upon.

It was time for her meal.She never had he lunch with her colleagues.She was a regular at the restaurant three blocks away where she could see all sorts of people while she sipped her coffee or cut through her steak.She liked people.She would have loved to have someone to share all these with.

She went back to her office after a quick bite.She had to finish another report.She entered her corner office.Felt home.Removed her coat.Put it carefully on the hanger.She sat on her cozy chair while she saw a folded piece of paper.

It had the name of the restaurant she just came from.It said dinner tonight.She usually had dinner at home.Alone.Probably a toast and coffee.But her curiosity got the better of her.

The snow was heavy.There were dark clouds.Seemed liked it would rain.It was six in the evening and for some reason she was excited.People never left her notes.People never contacted her,but for anything official.She felt a tingling sensation since the moment she folded the note and kept it in her coat pocket.

It was raining heavily.Thankfully the place was only three blocks away.The place was nearly empty,given the rain.She found her usual table.Another envelope.The person knew where she would sit.She was taken aback.Thought it was some cheap prank someone was playing on her.She opened it.The note was handwritten.

If you're reading this,this indeed is the day I better start believing in luck.You better start having some company when you drop in here the next time.The way you look at people and the urge to share something about them and the dismay on seeing empty chairs all around you makes the even the heartless weep.I could have told whatever I'm coming to say at so many different occasions.But all those moments you barely had the time to hear this.So I though I better make you take time out of your life for I have become tired of waiting.

The first time I wanted to say this you were in tears.Its not that I did not want to disturb you,but I was busy looking at you,beautiful with tears and red cheeks and by the time I realised I had to make a move you were long gone.

The next time I did not want to deprive you of the happiness you were experiencing on getting your first bike.
The only thing that's missing here is the Oak tree.Your Oak tree.
 I could've asked you out during college.But I did not.I too was one among the many who were intimidated by your beauty and brains.Deadly combination I would say.Success was your middle name.
I could fall in love everytime I saw you.You truly swept me off my feet.I could feel that you were feeling lonely.I did not know to seize the day.I don't think this letter explains enough.But I'll promise this,given a million chances I'll choose you every single time.

 It took sometime for her to take all this in.She never expected something like this to come her way.She stood up,turned back.She saw him smiling at him.The rain outside stopped.Tears rolled down her cheeks.She felt it.She felt what she dared she'd never feel.He made her feel it.

She felt love.

She felt like an ordinary woman.

What made the charmer charm..

People you meet by accident stay with you longer than you think they will..

I should not call it an accident for now the person has a more than important place in my life.It was the summer of 2007.I had enrolled for computer classes.There were a few from my school and naturally I sat down for classes alongside those few.There were people i did not know and I'm eternally grateful to Sudarshan for having introduced someone who'd make my life better than the best it could have been.

Brilliance is an inferior  adjective to describe him.I was as comfortable with him as I could get to any close friend.There are no definitive limits to the topics I discussed,discuss and will keep discussing with him.Sound and worthy were his advices,ones you'd regret for having not followed and those that you'd feel gifted for having listened to.

Fun is what I'll describe every single moment with him.Be it teaching me Physics or talking about mundane stuff that one would not even think of about.The way we bond is something that always amazes me.Its not pre-meditated but we end up discussing serious stuff that change the very root of my opinions about significant things in life.

He had made me think twice.Taught me things which cannot be taught.I have learnt lessons from him that none,even the best of teachers can never make me understand.He makes me realise stuff that I wouldn't realise even upon reading volumes of books.

Each minute spent in his company counts as one of the most important moments that mean a lot to me.
Class twelve would have probably ended up disastrous but for his guidance,help and any other superlative that could fit in.He walked me through and would continue to do so.He could see through my eyes.he could say what was good for me.

He's that kind of person that people would long to have,people really need to have.
The kind who makes you realise you are wonderful.
The kind who makes you feel special.
The kind who makes you respect yourself despite the faults.

He is one of a kind.

Truly the 'JACK' of all trades.

Thanks for being there.I owe you one if not many..
..

Forever grateful..
Cheese-Charmer.. the name you gave me.The identity that exists.

Goodbye

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 13; the thirteenth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton.
 Finally the day arrived,something which she was looking forward to for over five months.Excitement,fear,sadness.. she loved that rush of adrenalin.After all its only once in your lifetime that you get married.It was a sunday,as she wanted it to be.She wanted all her kith and kin to be present.Most of them had arrived early the previous evening.She was the first girl in the family after a generation and was loved by even the distant of relatives.She woke up early,real early.She did not sleep much actually.With her own excitement and those of friends and family who spent the night speculating about how wonderful her marriage life was going to be.Also she had her own dreams about her marriage,which had kept her sleepless for most nights in the last few months.

  The last few hours of her 'Daughter phase' flew like time never had.The knot was tied and the 'Daughter-in-law' phase begun.Thus started her journey as a wife and here she was at her mother's place for bearing her first child.The beginning of a new phase 'Mother'.

                                                     ~~~~~~~~~~
 Its been a while since she visited her childhood home.She had spent almost her entire childhood there.She still remembered the first few years they spent here.She was not the daughter of a millionaire,yet her father treated her like a princess.They were an ideal family,similar to the ones you see in advertisements and movies.Mom,Dad and a brother.Perfect two years difference with her brother,an elder one.The two year difference made sure she had a friend around her all the time.The place had two bedrooms.A small but a happy place.
 First day of her arrival.She was sitting on her brother's bed,waiting for her mom to bring her lunch.Was looking around,recounting those days as a kid.This was the room where she used to get ready for school.Lovely memories.She remembered the old study table which was as old as her.She started exploring the things on the table.Her brother hadn't changed much.Pens of so many colours,used,unused,decades old found a place on the table.Most of which were hers,she knew.She came across a mess of papers.It had greeting cards,letters(to her surprise) and others which had stuff written she did not understand.Among those was one which seemed crushed,mostly because it was folded and unfolded frequently.It was handwritten like most of the others,with the same tiny alphabets.
                                                       ~~~~~~~~~

 The big day had finally arrived.He wanted it to be the happiest day of her life.She always dreamt big.He wanted her to.He always promised her things at an age he did not even start college.He really wished he could keep all his promises.He thought he did.She did not complain.That made him sure.He woke up early,even before the sun was up.He hadn't really slept.Not only the previous night,but since she crossed the threshold age for marriage.He cannot be blamed.She was all he loved.She was all he lived for.

                                                     ~~~~~~~~~~
I always wanted to say a few things to you,my little sister.You don't know how many times I call you this way every single day.You hate it when I call you that way don't you? Those first few days with your new mobile,I used to send 'Goodnight little sister' and get scolded by you in the morning.I don't remember the first day i saw you.I really wish I did.Got to know from Mom and Dad that the kept me waiting outside the hospital with Uncle because they did not want me to see Mom in pain.They did not know you could wipe away all the pain and sadness like you did for these many years and keep doing so.You defined the world to me.I write well,people used to say.But now I can't express what I want to.I always knew this day would come.I cry easily.I break down soon.May be I have cried more than you ever did.Wouldn't be a surprise.Considering that I cry everytime i see you crying,definitely I would've shed more tears than you.But all I wish is that I have wiped more of your tears than stood as a reason for.I still remember one of your birthdays,fourteen or fifteen,I was crying all night because I couldn't buy you anything.I still remember the first time I had to feed you dinner.You had mehendi on your hands.After that now and then I started feeding breakfast when you got ready to school.Those moments,I was the happiest on earth.I did not realise much till I reached class eleven.I lived every moment after that for you.To keep you happy.I cried more than you when your class ten results came.I fight hard with my tears everytime you cry to make you stop crying.Damn,I'm crying now!
The first time you hugged me was when Grandma passed away.Broke my heart.And then the day when you consoled me about college.That's one of the days I noticed how big my little sister had become.Those singing lessons you gave me.Really funny when I think about all that.We grew up together.We were infants together,teens together.Now we are two grown ups yet I feel like a kid all over again.
Wish we get to grow up once again.I'm really sorry for all the times I hurt you.I think i got you enough handbags and jeans you asked for.Will be eternally happy if you continue to ask me for more.
You have been the reason for my happiness for these many years,wish the other family,your new one feels the same after a while with you.
I have never said 'I love you' to you.But I have said that to myself more than a million times everyday.
You are the daughter I never had and you'll continue to remain the same..
I won't be giving this to you today.I don't want to see you cry for one more reason.
                                                      ~~~~~~~~~~

She had the crushed piece of paper in her hand.It took a while for her to take all this in.Mom came inside with her plate.She asked why she was crying.She realised she was.Wiped her face.Did not speak anything.Hugged her tightly and cried even more.

He stood on the terrace with the letter in his hand.Crushed it and put it in his pocket.

Mom asked why.She did not answer.All she could do was cry.

He heard her calling him.Wiped his tears,tried hard to smile.the knot would be tied in a few hours.The day had not yet broken,but he was.

                                It was time to say,"goodbye"

PS: I don't think I would be emotionally strong to write such a letter when my Little sister gets married,but if I write one it would certainly be this.She is fifteen now and she is all I got. Love you :)
