Why?

Why did it end?

Because, he walked away.

I don't think so.

Then why?

Because, she walked away also.

When the dominoes started their fall..

Its sunday night. Some people are partying, some are cribbing about monday blues, some are preparing for math tests while in the eastern most part of our planet people are dying.I happened to read this post, The end of the world as I see it. Here I sit with a zillion questions about Nature and what a bitch it is proving itself to be.

I'm not blaming anyone in particular not that god person or whoever I must think to be responsible for. People are sympathising, praying and wishing nothing more should envisage Japan and its people while I sit here with a strange feeling which I guess is mostly guilt. Was discussing this with my friend, asking why should one country face repeated bashing while others are safe and sound cheering cricket. There might be kids and people of my age who are as entitled to life as much as I am but are crying out loud because they lost their mom, dad, siblings or a part of themselves. Is it fair? I asked this question so many times in the past two days that I lost count, "What kind of a design is this?"

My friend said there is no point in feeling guilty, mankind has been programmed to sympathise and do nothing but move on as there's nothing more one can do. Imagine this scenario, this might make you understand how I feel: The teacher is punishing that kid sitting in the first desk while you are in the last desk looking at him getting beaten with a cane all the while having the same unfinished homework in hand.

I do not wish to be Nostradamic and post my predictions as to how and when the world will end. In fact I don't believe in the 2012 crap myself. I can't help but think that there are people smiling and dancing while there are people drowning in misery. Its sad that I wait for Sachin to score a hundred while the Japanese are hiding their children from radiation. Imagine a kid born last week, which was the centre of attention and the reason for its family to smile, laughing and wetting the diapers knowing not that his mom and dad are crying all the while when they are trying not to wipe the smile away from his face. What if that's the last thing they ever see?  Why should this happen? If all the world has to end let it end in a whisper. Why to show off?

Just because you can, you shouldn't, bitch.

The world needs love, spread it. Spread it wherever, whenever and however you can. And that love shall give the finger to whomever responsible.

The Unnamed Entity.

And god said let there be light

Ingredients like hair, skin, antidote for Pond's age miracle et all were used and man was created. In the beginning was this naked man, Adam, a single solemn entity who found solace in eating carrots like Bugs Bunny. There was his female counterpart and she is known by the name Eve(probably Stephanie Meyer was influential in coining the name) Their hobby was gardening and they covered every possible space available with trees of a million kinds which their successors would eventually cut down. And he ate the forbidden fruit, the apple. No, not the selfish fruit company that names all their products starting with i. Also that's the probable reason why we call the lump on men's throat as the Adam's apple. Very uncreative I say, it looks nothing like an apple. Coming back, he tasted the forbidden fruit and *bang* Adam and Eve got transformed into what men and women would behave a million years from then. Sadly they failed to read the terms and conditions and clicked on it just like everyone else. So Life, as we know it, started. They got naughty and gave birth to kids which cried all night long and did not allow them to sleep. They did not have diapers back then and so the Ayers rock and the Nile were probably the result of the kids' well, you-know-what.

Man got accustomed to living in this green planet which is basically 3/4th water and I have no idea which genius decided to call it green instead of blue. Man experienced happiness, sadness, agony, heartbreak and heart attack. So the world started behaving like how it would be a few million years later. Man started feeling all these multitude of emotions. He started thinking, wondering about himself, others and life in general. He was happy and wanted someone to share it with. He was sad and wanted some shoulder to cry upon. He fell in love and wanted someone to express it.  He made friends, adopted natural selection. Gave birth to kids and kids called him dad and his female counterpart as mom. He wanted to teach his kids a lesson. They had to learn. The kids were more intelligent than the parents themselves. And man found this phrase " I told you so." The kids started questioning. They asked him who told you so? Man did not have an answer.

Man was lost. He felt lonely.
He wished for things and wanted someone to ask it to. He wanted to pray. He wanted a guide. He wanted a torch in darkness. He wanted someone to blame. He wanted an answer to all unanswered questions. He wanted a master. He wanted a superior. He wanted a secret. He wanted faith. He wanted to be blind. He wanted to be bound. He wanted to be controlled. He wanted a reason to love, to fight. He found a religion. He wanted isolation. He wanted bloodshed. He wanted hate. He wanted wrath. He wanted war.

And man said let there be god.

Pay attention, its free!

Life, is a social experiment.

For plenty of people social networking is life, while in actuality life is a web of social networks. Its said that joy doubles and sorrow halves when shared. People have stopped realsing the value of that, thanks to the fast growing world where people can't even spend time to smile at the next guy. People today feel lonely in a crowd, lost amidst best of friends. Why? Lack of attention. It so happens that in a group of friends you might have favorites. As the group gets bigger the attention naturally gets divided and sadly people tend to forget one or two. Yes, in a group of best of friends. Being left out is not their choice or leaving out them is not their option. Yet it happens and there comes a divide between people which may rise due to inexplicable reasons. Isolation is something that no man has mastered to deal with. Life, both social and the social networking phase of it, is all about notifications. Learn to appreciate the existence of the fellow being. Pay attention, it costs you nothing :)

Life, is a social experiment.

How facebook changed the face of people..

Came across this Mark Zuckerberg's shutting down Facebook news. The first thing that came to my mind was " Oh no what am I going to do without Facebook?" And when I started thinking, yes thinking, what the big deal about Facebook was, I realised I'll be one of the few who is not so heart-broken. Yes, I'm addicted to Facebook, waste plenty of my quality time on it. There was one 16 year old kid who'd commented " Everyday, I spend about 10 hours on Facebook. What would i do with all that free time now?" My reply would be, "May be try growing up in your free time". It has become an obsession for so many like me. Though I made a few really good friends on Facebook, I think I'd've made many more of them if I were interacting with people for real. I personally feel that with every random friend we make on Facebook we get more lonely.

What life was and what Facebook has made it into?

When someone's in a distress we used to feel sorry for them, now we 'like' when someone's sad.

When someone gets a girlfriend/boyfriend they used to TELL people, now they update their relationship status.

We used to make friends, no we are making fraands.

"How are you" used to make sense, now its plain nonsense.

Personally, I love those 2900 plus pages that I've 'liked', still its creepy.

Relationships break because some boy/girl scribbles something-that-is-not-to-be-expressed-in-public on your wall.

One used to feel happy when people remembered your birthday, now even genuine wishes have become meaningless because you think Facebook notified them.

When people slapped you cried, now you 'like' it or worse, others 'like' it.

Half the number of people who were interested in Farmville actually know nothing about farms.

Parents used to talk to kids, now they 'chat'.

If one had updated his status as much as he did with his Facebook account in real life he'd be the most respected man in town.

When you see people being bullied on Facebook forums, its plain sad.

One wouldn't even smile at strangers, now he adds random people because they both 'like' the same brand of toilet paper.

There used to be genuine fans for people, now there are more fan pages than fans.

I'd love hugs but sadly they don't exist offline.

Patriotism was a feeling of the heart, now the more one hates others the greater patriot he is.

Saying 'fuck you' is easy, being on the other end is hard.

Creativity existed, now Plagiarism is the new creativity.

You made friends, now you request people to be your friend.

You used to quote people, now you imitate people.

Those and so many, Facebook had played its part in changing people forever. This reminds me of a couple of fan pages, yes Facebook effect,

Facebook is the only place where you are allowed to write on walls and poke people.

If Facebook was ever shut down, people would be walking the streets poking strangers and writing on walls.
Now, we'll know if that's the case if the shutting down of Facebook is not some sort of hoax.

Get real. Get a life.

The good wife

She was washing the dishes by the sink.

It was around seven in the morning. He came downstairs, groggy eyed,  more due to the alcohol than due to sleeplessness. He was angry at her because she did not wake him up by six thirty like he had asked her to. She tried, she couldn't, she did not mention that. He brushed, had the juice and breakfast she'd prepared. He was complaining all through breakfast. He swore at her for misplacing the tie. Amidst all this he forgot to thank her for steaming his suit, not to forget his pearl white shirt. He slammed the door hard, left without a goodbye.

She was washing the dishes by the sink.

The clown who frowned

Bad weather which brings,
Sad thoughts and mood swings.
Which makes me write crap,
And shamelessly call it rap.
On a tuesday which is usually not brisk,
I wrote this down, read at your own risk.

In the town that was so glee,
There was a happy clown.
To see him people used to flee,
For he never had a frown.

There once was a little girl,
Who was an only daughter.
She was all sad and dull,
The clown vowed to bring back her laughter.

She said she did not have a brother,
He sat down thinking of a plan.
Told her why ask another,
For he was as good a man.

She took him as her own,
Asked all she could.
He brought her a pink gown,
And made her toys of wood.

Her mom gave birth to a baby boy,
She never again came to see the clown.
The clown felt nothing but plain joy,
For he never used to frown.

There was a girl who was single,
For she never befriended a guy .
The clown sang her a jingle,
Danced with her,
She forgot to cry.

A prince asked her to marry,
She was given the crown.
Her life turned so merry,
And she forgot the clown.

The girl and the princess,
Saw him through fences.
Yet happy was the clown,
For he never used to frown.

The clown was left aloof,
His sad days were living proof.
None remembered the clown,
Who never used to frown.

His days turned so blue,
As leaves were full of dew.
His life became upside down,
And taught him how to frown.

The village of glee,
Slowly forgot to flee.
To see the happy clown,
Who never used to frown.

Of apples and oranges..

What is this obsession about being the first in something? Or rather everything?

Life has a zillion things to do.From being the first to brush and the first to flush, to being the first crush everyone wants to be the first in what they do.There's nothing wrong in giving the best effort in anything and everything you do but its so very wrong to expect the best returns for whatever you do.Someone who's good at finding the length of a straight line may suck at drawing one.Doesn't matter I say.Its hard for people to understand that.

Unhealthy competition leads to imitating someone who is successful.I have seen people who sit with books just because someone somewhere in an interview said that he studied for seven hours a day.Stuff like this totally irritates me Sigh.

All one has to aim at is to learn the lessons.Be it life's cycle or cycle tests.

Some students in class! YUCK!

I hate it when people are obsessed with marks. Why constantly try to be good at something while you can improve and be the best at something that you're already good at.

Einstein may not have been good at football.
Amitabh may not be good at algebra.
They cared about what they can be good at rather than striving to become something of nothing.

Remember, If you have to make apple pie from scratch, you've to recreate the Universe.

Oh Gawd!

Every morning
Sapiens rise up and pray
Man,animal or woman
Are indifferently your prey.

Some state you as the reason
For sun,stars and big bang.
For some mysterious reason
Scientists don't get a hang.

The gardens and the great wall
Are man made wonders
They say you are in charge
Man thinks and he ponders.

He has no faith
He calls himself theist
Someone comes and questions
You name him atheist.

For me you are
And sometimes not.
Hiding it is a frost
I'm named agnost.

War,love or peace
You don't give a shit.
You call yourself god
That simply doesn't fit.

Sarfaroshi ki tamanna..

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 15; the fifteenth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton.

I was staring at all the blood and broken shreds of glass. I have never seen so much blood all at once. Panic, nausea and fear gripped me. What was I supposed to do? Run haywire like everyone around me? Stay there? Cry? Break down? Faint? To this day I cannot recall why that moment I was taken to that memory. That particular day

 ***

The sounds of vendors and distinct chatter startled me. I’m someone who doesn’t usually sleep during journeys. But this was a particularly long one and I had nothing better to do. Rubbing my groggy eyes, I woke up to see that the train had stopped at some place which I couldn’t identify. Half heartedly accepting the job at a construction site in some village at Jharkand, which would break my seven month stint of joblessness and more than that the daily dosage of scornful looks from the people who were family. I wanted to go someplace far off and this gave the right cue.

After splashing my face with water from the water bottle I had bought at the previous station I took a look outside at the station. It seemed there was some problem with the tracks a few kilometers ahead and the train would not leave until that was attended to. It was a beautiful weather. The clouds were like a little kid with a premonition that he wouldn’t be bought the toy he wished for, ready to cry, waiting for the perfect moment.

There was no beautiful girl in my compartment like I was taught by the numerous movies I saw through the years. One fantasy that never came true. I looked around the station, being an architect myself I found it hard to identify the pattern of construction. Nevertheless the view was breathtaking, similar to the ones you see in postcards from foreign countries. Tired of looking around, I tried to go back to sleep.

I heard voices right outside my window. Three men, must be strangers, were introducing themselves. Strange how people make friends in journeys like this. I have never been able to. May be because I don’t open up much. They were fellow passengers and remained just the same. I couldn’t help but listen to their conversation.

“Thanks so much bhai, my wife would become so worried even if I return an hour late. Can’t blame her. My area is full of extremists and I am equally scared to travel alone after dark” said one man to the other probably thanking him for a phone call.

“Is it always like this here? I have to report at 10 am tomorrow. With this problem I don’t think I will be able to”

“It’s the Government”, the third man joined in. “They take villages for granted. They hesitate to spend money like they’re spending it from their own pockets. Corrupt scoundrels”

“Very true bhai, electricity, water, everything is scarce over there. We have been living there for generations. The world outside is so different from what we call our world “

“ I’m from the south. Going on deputation. Mom and dad were so worried when I said Jharkand. Naxal problems and all that. But a job is a job. Its not like I’m in the army or something” He laughed saying that.

“Young men. You don’t fear anything. The country needs more of your kind”

“My grandfather was in the army bhai, 30th infantry division. Shot to death in the sepoy mutiny. My whole family is proud to say that we are in his lineage”

“Nothing like fighting for the country. People downsouth are brought up being nurtured by stories of bravery and sacrifice. Its hard to be like that today. Honesty, patriotism all these have lost values”

Silence followed.

“Terrorism plays upper hand. Its so sad to see things like that everyday on tv”

“I see things like that happening right in front of me once a week. Got used to it”

“Terrorists think they’re more patriotic. Sad part is that they kill in the name of religion while no religion preaches them to kill nor take up violence”

“God is watching everyone. I pray everyday to make people better by giving them brains to think. When’ll God open his eyes? Cannot see that happening anytime soon”

“There is Judgment for everyone. God waits at the Palace gates to decide who falls where. Those cruel beasts will rot in hell”

“Qayamat holds all answers bhai. It pains to see kids and women falling victims to these barbarians”

The whistle blew and the voices faded away as I drifted off to sleep.

***

The memory unfolded in front of me. I realized I was standing in the middle of a pile of rubble. Screaming mothers and weeping wives. People of all religion bathed in the same color devoid of all differences..

Least did I know what Shankar Iyer, Muhammed Haneef and Johnson would be thinking after watching this on tv the following afternoon.

Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai

Dekhna hai zor kitna baazu-e-qaatil mein hai

Aye watan, Karta nahin kyun doosree kuch baat-cheet

Dekhta hun main jise woh chup teri mehfil mein hai

Aye shaheed-e-mulk-o-millat main tere oopar nisaar

Ab teri himmat ka charcha gair ki mehfil mein hai

Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai

Because I can..

Just finished watching "Aayutha Ezhutthu" for the upteenth time. The movie gets better everytime I watch it.Its been long since I posted anything, couldn't find anything to write about, courtesy my vetti stint.Happy that it gets over today.Back to business from tomorrow.WeBlog's competition got me many comments and roughly hundred odd hits in a week.Amazing.Using internet without usage concerns.Something that makes me smile till the fifteenth of every month.

It was 'friendship day'.Received messages from people who remembered to add me in those groups when they got my number long back...It helps.

Got a message from Miss.Yeah-She-Is-Tall "happy friendship day :) ". Wish things would get back the same. They were good but not anymore thanks to Miss Yes-No-Maybe and myself.

Mr.Next-Seat-In-Class fell sick over the weekend. Our friendship day reunion was at his place.Had a hearty laugh. Was good spending time with people you hardly see.

Went out for dinner with friends on saturday.Mr.Volleyball was back for the weekend.Always good to meet friends.MS could not make it.Would have been nice if he had turned up.Last saw him on my birthday.Seems like ages ago.

Saw 'Inception' on friday, worth every penny.

Was chatting with Mr.Brains last night, was thinking about school days, class seven and eight with him. Those days were fun indeed.

Got a message from,Yes-No-Maybe.Did not feel like replying, just like the past two three weeks.Still wondering why.

Mr.Cricket,Big B,Psycho and Mr.100 are busy with exams.
100's mom's back from Malaysia. He certainly felt good.Keeps him up in good spirits.

College kicks off tomorrow.Keeping fingers crossed.

Planning of bonding with a long lost art: Putting pen on paper.Got brilliant ideas to write about.Have a few things planned.Thinking of discussing with BigB.Hope it comes out amateurish at the least.

Wondering why I'm writing this post
Wondering why I blog actually.
Only this pops up..

Because I can..

Cheers... :)
