Government to open three new IITs internationally to make teenagers lives miserable

26th June 2013,

New Delhi.

The Planning Commission met as early as 10:00 am here at New Delhi to discuss what was possibly one of the most ambitious projects (only next to the Family Planning scheme and the Education for All programme) conceptualized by an Indian governmental body. At the end of the meeting the Planning Commission came to a consensus three new IITs are being planned one each in New York, London and Sydney.

When asked about the sudden meeting and the decisions made, "The weather was really good and it was imperative that we met for some chai-samosa. And regarding the decisions, we have been debating new prospects and it seemed only obvious that we have to scale
up" said one of the chief members of the Commission.

He also mentioned that with the results of the IIT-JEE 2013 declared just a couple of days back, the number of suicide attempts and the statistics pertaining to the number of teenagers who have been scarred for life served as the primary motivators behind the new idea.

It is also rumored that the three news IITs are just the first step towards the internationalization of IITs and soon would be extended to Paris, Buenos Aires, Cape Town and a few more cities across the globe.

"Frankly, the teenagers elsewhere are too happy for their own good and are delving into irrelevant ares of education that does not involve Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Who needs music degrees in an era where music is all about Autotune and lyrics involving only sounds and dedicated filler words like 'babe','baby' and 'gurl'?" said one retired government official who prefers to remain unnamed.

"We are also planning on establishing one IIT in Beijing if these attempts become successful. But that IIT will only have the Humanities departments of IIT so that we can slyly suppress Chinese Engineers. Admission to that IIT will also involve Math, Physics and Chemistry in case the Chinese get alarmed and choose to skip JEE" said Mr.
'Cos theta' Kameshwaran who will be the Chief Architect of the Engineering programme at the new IITs.

Economics experts in India exclaim that this is a welcome move and would affect the start up scene in India in a positive way. When asked how this is relevant to the Indian start-up scene the collective response was that "IIT+IIM graduates who watch 'Jobs the movie' next year might want to drop out and do something productive. But since they would have already graduated they might quit their work and decide to start up. They would surely take inspirations from the mastermind coaching centers at Kota and also FITJEE, Brilliant Tutorials and other elite institutions."

As a last word when asked about maintaining quality across all IITs the Chief Spokesperson of the Planning Commission said that "As a rule, we are planning to admit not more than one girl for every 25 students in the new IITs which would automatically ensure that the new IITs are also vested with the marked difference between any standard Engineering institution and the IITs."

This revolutionary idea seems to promise a lot of things that could lead to the general betterment of Humanity. It has already become a roaring success as Indian parents across the globe particularly in America are torn under the pressure of choosing between training their toddlers for Spelling Bee competitions and the IIT-JEE.

"We are clearly stumped about the new decisions made by the Planning Commission. The divergence from the general trend of making our children learn to spell 'Faux Pas' and 'Enchante' at the age of 4 to Maths, Physics and Chemistry coaching would be quite a challenge", said one agitated parent over Skype.

Will this be the idea of the decade or lead to an IIT-GATE (not the entrance exam, the scam) scandal ? Only time will tell.

Fourth world problems

So many centuries back, some knowledgeable people (who probably were the ancestors of today's knowledgeable Chennai crowd) classified people into four kinds (or varnas, for the Sanskrit-ly inclined). People those days didn't do much except praying, fighting or something like that. The four divisions were

Kshatriyas- people who fought.
Brahmanas - people who performed scholarly activities (like reading The Hindu from top to bottom)
Vaisyas - people who bought and sold things, merchant folk.
Sudras - people who did physical labor.

Today, three of the four classifications have merged with multiple regional and religion based sects and what remains in the Brahmanas and that too only in the name. I call this group the fourth world.

I think just because they were self proclaimed scholars in the ancient times there are a million hurdles and loopholes to make sure none of the modern day citizens of the fourth world would be eligible to carry out the pursuit of knowledge.

The fourth world is also referred to as the 'forward community' in pop culture. That's like the best irony inspired name ever. It gives tough competition to terms like relative grading, flash mob, engineering college and music director Harris Jeyaraj.

In the mark driven educational society today, the fourth world can only sustain itself if it chooses to embrace illiteracy. I mean come on, there are so many jobs one can end up without getting a degree.

"What is your percentage in class 10?"

"98%"

"Good. What about class 12?"

"99.5%"

"Very good, very good. Where is your community certificate?"

"I don't have one. Forward community."

"Oh."

"You should've worked hard in class 12. You are 4% short of the cut off."

"But I have 99.5% already."

"I know. But that's what the system says. The system is never wrong."

Well, the system is never wrong. No?

Okay. So, if I decide to follow my ancestors and resort to priestly professions, even they are competitive. People fight reservations, finish doctorates in posh foreign universities and once they get married, they come back to India, put their kids in PSBB, grow a pony tail and become vaaddhiyaars. So if I finish school with a meagre 98% and try getting into one such profession, I will be ineligible for that also. What should I do tell me? I think this is all a master plan to make sure nobody from the forward community remains to fight against reservation. They are aiming at a society filled with peace and harmony by waiting till all the people of the fourth world die.

Lets look at the possible jobs where there are no reservations:

1. Item dancer - best possible job. But men cannot apply because of penis and poonal.

2. Bodyguard for the dons/mafia heads - not possible because of curd rice.

3. Politician - No money, no politics. Yes money, no need of politics. Paradox.

And a few others like amateur photographer, social media expert etc. People used to become writers but these days one needs an MBA from the IIMs to become a writer.

So to sum up one does not simply be born as a citizen of the fourth world and also expect decent education. Oh wait, you cannot control that.

Pesama naanum kalacharatha kaapatha poidlamnu iruken.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it is 2012.

2012 is here and like the learned of today has told us to, we conveniently have ignored all scientific beliefs and have decided to believe the Mayans. Though the linguists have managed to understand not a single character of the Mayan script they are pretty sure that the Mayans believed that the world would end precisely on the 21st of December 2012. Some insufficiently educated scientists claim that when it is 21st of December elsewhere it would be 22nd in Australia but the theologists have strong evidence of the Mayan inscriptions. Now that we don't have a choice but to believe that the world would power off in December, we might as well prepare ourselves for the end. Though the power of the Almighty is way beyond the comprehension of man, the world has been gifted with a few super powers like Chuck Norris who might end up saving the world after all.

After rigorous sessions of brainstorming the United Nations superpower committee has narrowed down to the following and wants the committees of the other organisations to vote in favour of one of them.

Plan 1:

Our first resort would be Sachin Tendulkar. As always he will be the man of the hour. For those who are raising an eyebrow along with irrelevant questions like "How?" the committee has the following answer. Sachin Tendulkar would stall from scoring his 100th 100 well past the 21st of December as he has got plans to visit Australia and New Zealand along with his family at the expense of the BCCI during the next world cup. He has assured that he will score his hundredth ton during the India England series of 2015 where Dravid's son is all set to make his debut. Since Sachin would not have scored his hundredth ton by 21st of December the world cannot possibly come to an end. Brilliant ain't it?

Well, if at all Sachin fails to deliver by scoring his century we have back ups.

Plan 2:

Anna Hazare has promised that he would go on a fast unto death against the end of the world with just an hour's break everyday for lunch.

Plan 3:

Hrithik Roshan and Abishek Bacchan are our next resort. They have confirmed that the script for Dhoom-22 is ready and they would do all that they can to stop the world from shutting down in December. When pestered consistently they revealed that the story has an amazing chase sequence which was inspired from a similar sequences in Dhoom-1 to Dhoom 21. Abhishek also added that the Bacchan daughter makes her debut in that movie and said that he will do all that it takes to enjoy that proud moment.

Plan 4:

Vijay Tv has promised that they'll conduct the finals of Super singer on the 21st of December. Their event will make sure that the whole world is distracted from the destruction happening outside while the people are glued to their tv sets. Just like their previous editions the finals would extend till the next day as this time the fathers of the contestants have also promised to cry.

Plan 5:

Plan 5 is the god of all back ups. If all the above plans fail, we'd be consulting the only man who can make anything possible- Rajnikanth.

Happy new year :)

I might as well join the bandwagon

This post can also be titled "A day in the life of " or just in case the limelight misses you "How I joined a billion people in worrying about Tendulkar's ton :-)"

Before you get all worked up and go "the fuck is this, the fuck is that" on the comments section, I'd like to make four things clear:
1. I'm as much a fan of Sachin as you are. You are probably better because no matter what I say, you will claim so.

2. Sachin will NOT read this blog post even if his astrologer says that reading this will make getting the 100th hundred easier.

3. It's an undeniable fact that Sachin is one of the greatest ever to have swung the willow because none has tried denying it in the first place. Also because it is kinda true.

4. Read points 1-3 until you are clear.

It is indeed sad that a handful of recent happenings have stolen the thunder from Sachin, who, now probably is at some dimly lit bar in Melbourne drinking away his woes. It is important to get over sorrow to become successful. The popular saying goes 'jo jeeta hai woe hi sikkandar'. It has been a real tight competition among Sachin, Kapil Sibal, Anna Hazare and a bunch of corrupt politicians. But in the end, cricket has been the winner, every time.

Godwin's law says that every discussion on the internet will sooner or later end up in Nazi bashing. The Indian version of it is that every discussion will end up with the conversationalists worrying about Tendulkar's hundred not unlike the Tambrahm parent concerned about the son's centum in Mathematics or a bad joke on death and destruction. I ask you one simple question which I have asked myself numerous times in vain, why?

Immediate attention and all that, but there is an etiquette to make jokes, right? Everything is not a joke. There was a fire in a hospital at Calcutta today. The death toll reached 20. And somewhere someone has been making "Who will reach 100 first? Death toll or Sachin?" No expletive can express how cruel this is. It's a welcome change that people have started taking things light. You move on, make a couple of jokes and laugh about it. But when? Not when Rome is still burning. If you come to me with "Nero became famous because he played when Rome was burning. Not when Rome was, well, not burning" I will reply with "fornicate thee" in street language. I'm not asking you to cut down the jokes completely or something like that. I spend major part of my day coming up with pathetic jokes myself. But there is a line and most of us are crossing it even before we tweet or put up a facebook update.

Wait. I know what you are thinking.I asked you not to talk about Sachin everywhere but I did here.
I asked you not to make jokes about death but I did here.

I being one among you in the society will escape with the same excuse. Everyone is busy coming up with stuff like this, so, I might as well join the bandwagon.

Every dog has it's day

"Happy Friendship Day"

Now that 'friendship day' hath cometh, my mobile inbox and facebook wall are being flooded with deeply thought messages like this. I am teary eyed as I read through every single message just like the million other people on whose wall you 'ctrl+v'-ed it. So what is all this hoopla about one particular day to spread fraandsheep? I firmly believe all these 'days' were started by greeting card companies to improve marketing. Except for one particular day which was the brainchild of Cheran in Autograph. It's 'Happy vayasukku vandha day' of course.

So as I sit here overwhelmed by the number of friendship day texts I receive and disgusted by the ultimate pichakarathanam of my mobile service provider I try to place myself in the shoes of those creative geniuses who come up with such 'days'.

There is Mother's day. There is Father's day. And then there is - Wait for it- Parents' day. I am nothing short of spell bound to know of all this. Might work in America but nevertheless its nothing but ultimate douchebag-ism.

You think Google is the source of all the info that is available today, right? You might want to rethink.  Facebook status updates have replaced Google's databases. Did you know that 'International Brother's week' and 'International Sister's week' both fall on the same week? Also thrice in the same month every other month? Beat that. Added incentive is that if you are the first person to put up such a status everyone on your friend-list will wish your brother/sister instead of
their own brother/sister. Yes there are so many smart phones but very few smart people to note that ctr+v will not change their friend's brother's name into their own brother's.

There is 'international cute puppies day'. Where people upload pictures of KITTEN! Yes, KITTEN!

There's 'World AIDS day'. I don't want to know what people do on that day and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to either.

There's 'International Mommies day' which I don't know how is entirely different from International Mother's day. You should be careful to wish your mommy and not your Mother, not even accidentally.

Oh wait, these days are not just days but 'events' on Facebook. Some lonely teenager who couldn't grab a beer or a girl to get laid on a Friday evening decides to spam everyone on Facebook by creating 'events' like FDFS for Korean movies which don't even release in the same continent as his.

Amidst all this there are cool days like 'Pi day' which makes me relieved that some sanity exists in today's world.

All said and done, happy friendship day all. I won't text or wall post you people for I am scared that this post will be reduced to a single twitter hash tag: #meta.

So long.

Mummy, Manmohan and Manchester United

Go Go MUFC
You might not understand the quote(?) that I have mentioned here. It has a very deep sense of philosophy, historical importance and is used as a reference to a club which is inevitable in the EPL. This reference is used by fans of the said club ONLY on the occurrence of events that change history once for all, like when one of them fans are able to poop successfully in the morning. They claim they don't refer to their club or chant the said quote when their club does not come in the picture. And that's why they scribble that all over facebook and twitter when Pompey beats Wigan or when Kate marries William. In short, Go Go MUFC is the "Who is John Galt?" of Manchester United.

It was election results yesterday. There were several significant changes made to the fate of the people of TN. From now on the tax payer's money will not benefit Mu.Ka and his family while it will be of great help to the people of 'Thamizh Naad' as the leader of the winning party says on tv. Nevertheless its been a remarkable victory and history has been rewritten and so the fans of the said club will as always grace us with the selective usage of Go Go MUFC.

Manmohan or Mum-Mohan as we know him better is neither happy or sad as Madamji hasn't yet advised him to respond to the election results of TN. He is unsure whether to rejoice or to plot the arrest of Kani and the King. Either way all he has to do is to sign a few papers and act important and remember to not to forget to keep quiet.

As the results have had an impact one might wonder how Manmohan is going to control the urge of using

Go Go MUFC.

Weather or not

Long long ago, when the world was not infected by H1N1, T.Rajendar, Justin Beiber and the like, there was a guy clad in Levy jean, Rayban shades Adidas shirt, Fastrack watch and Reebok shoes. Ok I just made that up. The guy whose costumes remain a mystery. was walking through the forests which can be found in today's western ghats. So there, he was walking through it and saw a sage in deep penance. Our guy, who is like the person who's typing off crap in the page, was curious to know who was the sage and what kept him busy.(I can hear my mind voice saying "Curious? You? Ha, your reader(s) is/are not fools dude". Well yeah, that sure doesn't sound like me. So I'll try another version, he simply wanted to disturb him. Now that sounds like me)

Well, he thought of a plan as he came up with a pretty lame one. He took out his wand( Fastrack glasses, cape and a wand, No not another Harry Potter ) So he conjured a catapult. he was shocked because he wanted to conjure Kat and make her dance for Sheila ki Jawani and he said the spell for CATapult instead of KATrina Kaif. He said &^%*^%$&&% : (Thats the F-word in sanskrit by the way) and went back to the job of distracting the sage. He aimed a stone at the sage and to his surprise struck him at the fist attempt. The sage knew who it was as he was cheating on his penance, had spotted him a while back and he had been the only means of entertainment in weeks. He cursed him and sent him to the court of Indra.

Indra, Varuna et all were busy watching Urvasi and Menaka dancing for Sheila ki jawani (Atleast Indra remembered half the the spell ) and were interrupted by our guy. They asked him the purpose of his visit. He said he was cursed and wanted to do something in redemption. They asked him what he was good at. He recalled his Deal/No deal and said he was good at guessing.

Indra: " Who will be the most popular man a million years from now"

Our guy: "Rajnikanth"

Indra was stumped.

Varuna: "Who will be the second most popular man a million years from now?"

Our guy: "You think you can get me with this? That's Rajnikanth again!"

Varuna was stumped too.

Meanwhile Indra reminded Varuna that it was time to change the weather in Chennai from Sunny-like-its-never-been to Rain-cats-and-dogs as there was a cricket match scheduled to begin in a few minutes.

Varuna got a spark of an idea.He said "Hey you've a zillion chances to guess the weather change that I'm about to bring. You'll be free from the curse if you get it right atleast once"

And he started guessing a million years ago, and is still trying to guess it correctly. By the way I forgot to name the character, we'll better call him RAMANAN.

SOP of a porn star

This post contains obtuse use of profane language and the author strictly advises people who do not want to change their opinions on me from worse to worst, against reading this piece. Read at your own risk.

To be or not to be is yesterday's question while to be with how many is today's.

My objective for graduate studies in the field of Algorithms in Simulations and stimulation of  simultaneous copulation is to prepare myself for a sustained and consistent career in the field said. I have developed this ambition long since I could remember and I have always pursued it with a hardcore approach to gain in-depth knowledge.

My interests vary from threesome to so many other awesome modus operandi and I'm sure that I'm familiar with the basics. Also I have thoroughly studied the papers on "Aesthetics of multiple orgasms" and my rigorous approach on preparing a self experiment based on the said paper was immensely encouraged by almost all the male faculty not only in my department, but also many others whose name I wouldn't prefer to mention for customary reasons.

I'm familiar with the operation of Square wave vibrators which work solely based on the principle of generation of Moans( pronounced as ooh-laa-laa) , muons and positrons developed by the world reknown Dr.Prakash who is a proud alumnus of my institution.

Therefore, I, Parimala Anbarasan, wish to enrol myself in the graduate program offered by you, The University of Penisylvania, through which I'm sure to gain first hand experiences and exclusive knowledge which would sure encourage me to pursue a PhD if offered in your University.

Sincerely,
Parimala Anbarasan.

Obama,satyabama and appa-amma..

Truth is the hardest thing to believe.

We often misunderstand things to be one, while they come out as the exact opposite of what one imagined. So is the case with the arrival of the American first man/first black American man, Barrack Obama, to India. Most of the common men,by which I exclude Mr.Singh and his corrupt associates, believe that the arrival of the President of the states would make a change in the economic situation of our country. Well, that is not going to happen.

He says, " Apart from the dreadful incident two years back, the Taj stands as an example for the nation's strength and it feels great to address the gathering from the very same place."

By which he actually means, "I'm glad that I was not elected President two years back and I really regret that Bush did not arrive when Terrorism went haywire two years back at the very same place".

Even after dodging all the questions and enough blaming of Pakistan,Iran and numerous other countries who don't understand what he says because they don't know English(as if the people who speak English give a damn) the media says he is discussing counter terrorism with the PM. He might as well be discussing, the terrorism at the Mumbai cine-plex ticket counters on Diwali day, which won't be revealed on account of being highly classified government info. You can't get this info even via wiki-leaks and that's why I provide you with Vicky-leaks ;)

He says America and India have come more close than ever, which invariably reminds me of Vadivel who tried to shift Delhi to South India. While Indian engineers, doctors and businessmen are waiting outside the embassy for their visas he's busy swiping his 'Visa' and dancing to Bollywood numbers in two piece( A shirt and a pant of course)

He's supposed to have signed a $10 billion deal. Well, there goes the money for Barrack/Manmohan campaign for the next elections. And this indeed would seem as a parody of the government reports. But believe me, Wiki might lie, Vicky won't.

Here, that I have included Satyabama for it sadly rhymes with Obama or so I think it does, I'm forced to make the following statements. The only Satyabama that I know of is the group of institutions run under that name. Which is a paradox. Let me tell you why. Its been portrayed as the strictest institution and its the scale which other colleges use to compare their levels of strictness with. Bite me. Its fun to be there as said by few friends who apparently belong to that chain of institutions.

The food, is immensely awesome and classrooms spacious and provide the perfect environment to sleep unlike the ones 'm forced to sit for 8 hours everyday.

I know you wish that you could've ignored the Satyabama part completely. There goes my rating into the drains.

And my appa-amma who are not even remotely interested in whether I write about Obama/Satyabama or the annoying next door mama, are indeed interested in the Internet bills that the mailman never forgets to deliver unlike so many other important letters. And that ( and not my train of thought which hit a dead end) is making me stop with this.

Truth indeed is the hardest thing to believe.

From Kalmadi to Kamal & Maddy

The wise say, the otherwise believe-Allan O'Connor.
Ranging from Dan Brown to the 'doctor' who can fly, a common trait keeps them kicking, deception.By making people believe what they want them to believe they fill their pockets and come up with more plans to deceive people. The sole blame is on the people and not on those who succeed in deceiving.Though a major part of the educated society falls prey for the Dan Brown sort, the flying doctor ends up in producing successful actors who otherwise would be engineers who would be grumbling upon flying doctors.

Take Suresh Kalmadi for example. He makes Sharad Powar look like a middle class man travelling in an MTC bus. Politicians spend lakhs of rupees which they looted in their previous regime to come into power again to start stealing for their next campaign. This vicious wheel keeps spinning. At the end of the day its the common engineer, sorry common man who gets affected with prices increasing and pocket money decreasing.

Harm aadmi

You,or one of the yous in one of the parallel universes must be finding this post interesting.I continue for the sake of that being.Apparently, I deceived you by stating there are parallel universes existing and even more by stating that I can write interesting stuff. Now do you realise how simple it is?

What started with poochandi and otha-kannan(One eyed man and No,I'm not scolding any Mr.Kannan in Madras thamizh) follows till today where my Math prof promises to clear my doubts in the next class. We got used to being deceived and the most boasted Indian culture plays perfect host for deception.

So many ads where Aamir Khan drinks abundant amounts of tea and absurdly asks others to stay awake seems to have no effect on the Great Indian Population. We simply can't resist staring at the white woman who comes out of the airport.

It will take few more decades for people to realise that awareness, common sense and education do not fall under the same zip code.Awareness programmes in India are conducted by the educated and for the educated(of the educated doesn't suit!Drat)

So finally as I'm content with filling enough space, all I need to convey is stay awake and don't get deceived.

Well, for those who managed to stay awake through the post and waiting to comment what does Kamal and Maddy have to do with the title, they're are doing a combo and be prepared to get deceived if Kamal plays a role wherein he's younger than Maddy, or worst case where they are both younger than Trisha.

PS: The quote in the beginning of the post was made up by yours truly.

PPS:There's no person named Allan O'Connor.Again,I made it up.Deception is even simpler isn't it?

PPPS:I've published cartoons for the first time :D I know I'm a horrible, horrible person to make you undergo all this.Yet,leave brickbats and comments :)

The wise say, the otherwise believe.

The usual suspects

Clearly, longer your post the more uninviting it is to the eye of your reader. But its seldom that i'm able to make myself write something huge and at the same time worthy of a second read to myself.

This is what I feel after receiving feedback like "Too lengthy", "Started reading, but slept half way through", "Will read the second half in my re-birth" and "Did you even type the whole thing?"

So, before I fill my current post with my opinions on my previous post here we go.

Had a blue week, eight of the seven days were bad.Fights and failed.. no epic failed tests.Days were as boring as they could get. This is life's irony.Good things don't happen when you don't want them to.( Sigh, I can't restrict myself from using the word Life in my posts and sure as hell the post gets labelled philosophical)

From the polambals in the first few lines to the pombalais that I come across everyday, there are reasons you,me and he state for anything that happens in your, mine and his life. And the blame game, love it dontcha?

These are the usual suspects:

Fate:

"Thy hath been destined to suffer".

This is one reason which is as lame as anything can get.

Luck:

Sheldon doesn't believe in luck.Enough said.

God:

Ha! Name to be used in the beginning, end and in the middle of all crisis.

Yourself:

No.That wouldn't be fair on my part.
